Thanks for the hint about the material skin, that is very useful! Unfortunately I see that the Deezer authentication will stop with the shutdown f the servers on 1 Feb. I run piCorePlayer as a server and player, it seems, on an RPi. When you install the Material skin plugin on LMS, you can control LMS and connected players via the LMS Material web interface.Thanks. Bonus: our RadioFeeds LMS plugin also lists AAC and the BBCs high-quality HLS streams on top of whats available in our MSB app. What Android app are you using? Is the app a player or a controller? And do you have piCoreplayer configured as a player, a server, or player + server? By the way, if you only use your Android phone as a controller, then you don't need an app. an up-to-date radio directory for your Squeezebox/Transporter/UE Smart Radio. So apparently you have LMS running in your home network, presumably on piCorePlayer? An Android app can only connect to a player via LMS. The server (LMS) can run on piCorePlayer, or on another computer in your home network. Squeezebox players can only play music when connected to a server. piCorePlayer can be configured as a squeezebox player, as a server (LMS), or as a player + server. Have a look at the 3 options that are shown on. So many people complaining about it - can't believe that nothing can be done. I wish I could keep using Deezer - this seems to be their achilles heel - lack of streaming options. I can install a Deezer client on the PI and use Deezer connect but that is NOT a very robust solution for running a headless streamer. Unfortunately I see now that I will enjoy my new-found solution for another day or two, then I am screwed again. I tried spotify via Volumio which works fantastic, but I prefer Deezer and my family will lynch me if I opt for a different subscription now (the Deezer hifi quality is also better than Spotify - but this is not meant to be a discussion about that - I just want to stream Deezer.) Unfortunately the options are limited and I want the best quality without having to buy dedicated devices (I prefer hacking things together). I want to STREAM Deezer from my phone to my HIFI. If you only want to listen to Deezer on a phone why do you need LMS?Apologies for the lack of clarity. There are a couple of Android apps, Squeezeplayer and SB player, neither of which are free. The player is the device you use to listen on. When you install the Material skin plugin on LMS, you can control LMS and connected players via the LMS Material web interface. What Android app are you using? Is the app a player or a controller? And do you have piCoreplayer configured as a player, a server, or player + server? By the way, if you only use your Android phone as a controller, then you don't need an app. I'll need to dig a bit more to understand this architecture, it seems quite complicated!Have a look at the 3 options that are shown on. Picoreplayer is a headless thing that runs on the LMS? Or is part of the LMS? I found an Android app that connects to the Picoreplayer. I always tolerated Pandora’s low bit rate because of its functionality, but I guess I no longer have that choice.Ok, looks like I got it working. Well, at least Tidal will give me 24 bit/192KHz streams…much better than Pandora’s compressed 192kbps or whatever it is. I likely will end up cancelling my Pandora Plus subscription I’ve had since 2006 and hope that Tidal (at three or four times the cost) can provide similar “music genome” functionality. It’s a real shame I will no longer be able to have Pandora integrated into this ecosystem. There is a beautifully functional UI called Material Skin that runs on laptops and smartphones that replaced the dated original LMS interface. We have plug-ins enabling access to Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz, BBC radio and others, plus we have plug-ins adding all sorts of functionality like ability to control DLNA and UPnP devices in addition to Squeezeboxes.
Over the years plug-ins have extended functionality far beyond what Logitech ever imagined. The LMS code itself is subject to ongoing development and improvement by LMS enthusiasts, but the truly amazing focus has been in plug-in development. Yes, the ongoing user community support for Logitech Media Server has been incredible over the years since Logitech discontinued the hardware.
